it seems as if i need buckles too. small ones... kendra, where do you get yours? i've perused fabric stores in the area and have never seen any. i do come across the ocassional D-ring every once in a while.

another good year at artscape. i was pissed that the musical line up wasn't as great this year and i knew of no one at the dj culture stage, but they pulled esthero in for saturday! esthero is without a doubt my favorite female vocalist. i have a preference for female vocalists who sound like the women that they are. none of this i'm a little girl, me and my tiny voice shit. it's the rich, lower registers that can convey a feeling and emotions that appeal to my ear. eshtero sings beautifully and while her range is somewhat limited her voice is strong. breath from another is and will be one of my favorite albums and i was damned sure i'd see her set. and what the fuck, she is so soulful and she's this little woman from toronto, canada. thin and probably my height, and it was funny to see that her hair was still orange like it was in the video for "that girl" from what seems eons ago (and seven years is a long time). and so she came with a little band (wondeful brass section). they played two of my favorite tracks off of heavenscent "country livin'" and "half a world away" and there was so much new material. it was amazing to see people singing along to stuff i had never heard before or knew existed. cute moments: they did a more "latin" version of "half a world away" and she started to tell everyone to dance but then she stopped and was like, i'm sorry it's too hot for that. she mentioned how it was awkward to play a show in the afternoon because "we're the vampyrs." ahahaha. her set was excellent and i was suprised thst she sang so well considering she was coughing and it sounded kinda flemmy. :( she stuck around while the next band set up being personable. i talked to her a little, got her autograph...it was nice.

so if any of you remember breath from another, caught her vocals on that roots track or the black eyed peas' "weekends," she's still around and has a new album out. i am so buying it.

i am done at work.
